Hello everyone and welcome to Lady Bookish!
I am so excited to be here, starting this blog. This project has been in my brain for years and, honestly, I have been too scared to actually do it. But here I am- ready to make cozy bookish content for ya’ll to enjoy.
So a bit about me:
My name is Kaitlyn Beck, the writer. First and foremost I am a follower of Jesus so that is what my worldview is rooted in. I am a wife to my handsome man of 6 years and a mother to a toddler (and yes, it is as crazy, exhausting, and awesome as you’ve heard). I have loved books and reading my entire life, thanks to my wonderful parents. I have been surrounded by books, from bookshelves in every room to weekly library trips to countless allowances going towards books. As I have grown up, as life has gotten busier, I have never lost this love of reading. Reading has been an escape, a means of learning, a means of connecting to emotions and to other readers. My heart flutters when I crack the spine of a book and fall deeply into the stories. Add a cup of tea, a light rain, and a cozy blanket and I am happy.
So onto the blog! I am so excited to write and create an online bookish community.
Here are the type of books I will talk most about:
-Classics and modern books that feel like a classic
-Mysteries, especially of the cozy variety
-Historical Fiction
-Books about books, libraries, bookshops, and other book themes
-Cozy, cottagecore style books (think gardens, baking, etc)
Here are the types of books you will not find:
-Horror (except classics)
-Sci-Fi (unless a classic or important to the book world)
-Political books
-Book Tok type books like Colleen Hoover (no shade to Book Tok but there is more than enough of that content elsewhere)- some exceptions may apply.
Content wise, I have MANY ideas outside of reviews (though they will be there too). I want to do author profiles, interviews with authors and book bloggers, highlighting independent bookstores and bookish companies, deep dives into history of certain books/trends/author/genres, book-centric trip reports, reading challenges, and more!
I really hope you stick around to enjoy my bookish content. My plan is to post once a week but will inform if missing a chunk of time due to holiday or emergency.
