Bookish Goals in 2025 (and some 2024 Moments)

Bookish Goals in 2025 (and some 2024 Moments)

Hello Lovely Readers!

Wow, can you believe the year is already reaching its end? 2024 has been a very full year for me- my sister graduated with her Masters, my sweet daughter turned one,  I started sleeping again (sorta), and I finally started Lady Bookish! It took me a while to just go for it-but I am so happy I did. Though it is still in its early stages, I am so thankful for all of you readers!

2024 Notable Bookish Moments:

-Books Read: 51 (16,096 pages)

-Favorite Reads: The Nutcracker by ETA Hoffman, Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe by Heather Webber, Saved by Noel by Tracy Baack and A Spoonful of Sugar: A Nanny’s Story by Brenda Ashford

-Favorite Series: Shady Hollow series and the Mitford series

-Least Favorite Book: Christmas at Little Beach Bakery by Jenny Colgan

-First Blog Post date: September 16  :)

I am already planning out posts for the coming months but I wanted to share some of my bookish goals for 2025.

Here are a few:

1.Grow this blog and my Instagram

I am thankful for everyone who reads my posts and follows me on Instagram (@ladybookishblog); I hope to welcome even more lovely readers to our cozy group. I have plans for more genre and author deep dives, book reviews, indie bookstore spotlights, bookish product reviews, and maybe a bookish trip or two. Feel free to share to your friends and family 🙂

2. Finish the Tea and Ink Society Classics Challenge 2025

My favorite reading blog of all time is the Tea and Ink Society (hello Elsie!) and every year she releases a Classics Challenge. Each month is themed and it is an excellent way to expand your reading horizons. The two rules are the books have to be published before 1970 and you cannot use one book for two categories. Throughout the year,  Elsie gives great suggestions if you are stuck on a theme. Here is the site if you want to join along: https://teaandinksociety.com/2025-classics-reading-challenge/?srsltid=AfmBOoo8eyABeY8M7QOuUjyrI_hcpOUJ7hFQf6kbp4AOYpavoWNIIY3a

I have tried for YEARS to finish it and this is gonna be my year!

3. Big Book Challenges

Alongside my other reads, my two big reads I want to accomplish are Don Quixote and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I have read neither but have always wanted to; I always made excuses to not read them due to size or time, but no longer! I will be reading Don Quixote in the summer and Lord of the Rings series throughout the year. I will keep you updated on my progress and maybe you would consider reading along with me!

As you may notice, I do not have a goal book number. In years past I have done this and, while it can be fun, I also find it to be stressful and takes the joy out of reading. As a toddler mom, I don’t always have large stretches of time to read. So instead of quantity, I want to focus on the quality of my books.

So now it’s your turn: what are some of your bookish goals for 2025? I would love to hear them! Comment below or on our Facebook group.

Happy Reading!

Lady Bookish

P.S. Did you know 1925 is considered one of the best years of literature? It saw the publication of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, and In Our Time by Ernest Hemingway (his first published fiction work).
