2025 Bookish Wrap Up and 2026 Book Goals
Hello Lovely Readers!
Happy New Year! Wow, 2025 went so fast. I apologize for the late post but besides enjoying my Christmas holiday, I also contracted some kind of chest cold. In fact, I am still on the mend but desperately wanted to write my wrap up post and give a sneak peek into the blog for 2026. So here are some quick stats from me:
2025 Notable Bookish Moments:
Books Read: 60 (17,161 pages according to Storygraph)
Favorite Books: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, When the Day Comes by Gabrielle Meyer, Five Little Peppers and How They Grew by Margaret Sidney, Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-Reum, The Village Beyond the Mist by Sachiko Kashiwaba
Least Favorite Books: Maggie: A Girl of the Streets by Stephen Crane, Mennonite in a Little Black Dress by Rhoda Janzen
Number of Blog Posts: 13
How did my 2025 Goals Go? Mixed Results.
There was such positive growth for the blog and bookstagram! We doubled our subscribers for the blog and hit over 1000 followers for bookstagram! Numbers are not important in the long run but just happy to grow our little community! I am so honored people want to read what I have to write and I do not take for granted ya’ll being here. So for your viewing pleasure, here is...
2026 Goals
1.Focus more on community engagement rather than numbers
While growth will still be important, I really want to focus on engagement this year! This means more posts, more responses to comments, collaboration with bookish businesses, and finding unique ways to engage with all of you. So I humbly ask for your help- please comment on posts on the blog, instagram (@ladybookishblog), and facebook (Lady Bookish) and feel free to message me about anything book related! If you can think of a way I can bring better content to you, feel free to comment below this post!
2.Complete Tea and Ink Society Reading Challenge for 2026
Though I did not succeed this past year (but read some great books because of the prompts), I will never stop pursuing this goal! Elsie is my favorite book blogger and her challenge prompts are always top notch! My strategy is to plan my books ahead and not necessarily read them in order by theme. Check out 2026 prompts here: https://teaandinksociety.com/2026-classics-reading-challenge/
3.Focus on American Classics and Authors!
This is the 250th anniversary of the wonderful USA. Though I have enjoyed a fair amount of American classics, there are so many I have not ventured to try! I hope to read at least 12 classic American novels. My big book challenge* will stem from this: I plan to read East of Eden by John Steinbeck and The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. I also plan to post deep dives into various American authors, some well known and others less so. If you have a must read American classic, feel free to comment below.
*My Big Book Challenge is a challenge to myself to tackle large classics. Last year it was Don Quixote, which I successfully read in May, and Lord of the Rings trilogy, which I did not get to in 2025.
There you have it, my 2026 bookish goals! I have some wonderful topics planned but I want to know: What would you like to see explored on the blog- topics, authors, genres? Also, do you have any bookish goals for the year? Comment below!
Happy Reading
